Essay on Glenn Beck’s Day in the Sun

August 31, 2010

Glenn Beck courageously defended his position that as a nation of individuals each of us ought to do some spiritual house cleaning. He is now saying what Bob and I have been saying since 1998. That the country is in trouble and it has to return to God to be saved. He cites the founding fathers faith in God as an example which we do not do; the founding fathers of this country bathed their hands knee deep in British blood and the blood of their own countrymen was also on their hands. They definitely needed to get on their knees and ask God for forgiveness and so do we. We can’t begin to count the number of Iraqui and Afghani people we have mercilessly slaughtered all in the name of this sick war on terror which has now exceeded all of our past wars as the longest affair in history. Our reputation is shot worldwide and we are completely despised as tyrants. Looking at the sad state of affairs in his own country one Iraqui citizen stated with melancholy “we would have been better if we stayed under Sadaam Hussein…”. We are just beginning to feel the consequences of our wretched foreign policy that dates back to the revolutionary war and the disgusting american propaganda machine that paints us as the “good guys” fighting for the freedom of the people…. look how our government has sold out the unions which were the only check and balance on executive power in the corporations!!!!
Look how lined our own statesmen’s pockets are with corporate dollars from lobbyists that manipulate the tax laws to get everything they want. See how the corporate executives pocketed the stimulus money and fed themselves record bonuses while hiring no one and laying off hundreds of thousands of workers!!!! See the corruption with your own eyes and read the Bible…. this is not pleasing to God.
However insane you think Glenn Beck is all you on George Soros’s payroll, you need to rethink your idiom and manifesto. Each of us ought to do some serious penance this Yom Kippur and pray for forgiveness. We must turn from this fatal attraction to wealth and riches and turn to the values of community living that the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ outlines in the New Testament. Even some of our churches and evangelists with their “seedy” cries for more money; saying plant a thousand dollar seed and watch it grow… how pathetic… you cannot serve God and money!!!! This is not pleasing to God….
It’s time to warm our hearts in the remembrance of how God has blessed America through times of prosperity and times of trouble and tribulation and fill our houses with hymn sings and start a revival of faith as Glenn Beck suggests and Bob and I have been calling for this ever since 1998. Glenn Beck had his day in the sun and I hope the message of a revival of faith is not lost. I am just a voice in the wilderness of internet blogs calling out for confession, penance, and to make the pathway straight for the Lord!!! REPENT!!!!

The Failure of the American System

June 27, 2010

Examining our culture which immerses young people from a very early age into cut-throat and bitter competition where the student is taught to crush the competition is good and the allowance of others to think, love and be is considered a failure. Young students are coerced into a power struggle where they are taught “to get ahead in life” and “exert control over others(adeptly disguised by calling it winning others and influencing others)” is what the game of life is all about. Yes the great gift of life in American Schools where the Bible has been banned has been reduced to a game of money-making and “us and them” competition. In a culture where making lots of money and crushing the competition are the chief goals where do Christ-like virtues fit in? It is clear that they do not fit in at all; in fact they are an abomination. One is taught to put themselves ahead of others not as Paul teaches in the letter to the Philippians as he exhorts believers to hold others in higher esteem than themselves and be concerned with the interests and dreams and visions of others and do nothing out of “selfish ambition”. In a culture where selfish ambition is applauded as “great” and “forward looking” and “progressive” being a Christian with Christ-centered visions and mindset is a very difficult thing indeed. We are laughed at in social scenes, our values scorned and ridiculed and our kindness in the work place is most often mistaken for weakness in order to take advantage of our generosity and willingness to help and use our gentleness and meekness for personal gain and selfish ambition. Many of us have been cast-typed as “mentally ill” and persecuted with drugs we have to take or else be incarcerated. These being cheaply made but expensively sold tranquilizers which dumb the victim into submission. In this failed American Capitalistic system it is everyone for themselves and money is the almighty god of choice the commander in chief the end all be all. With this perspective the average day becomes a savage feeding frenzy where violence can and does break out frequently and there is no safety or self-assurance in group gatherings. Wherever people are assembled in this perverse society, money is the objective and tensions run high, people are coerced and manipulated, labor is exploited, and class warfare is as commonplace as people are. In this hot bed of ill feelings and short impatient tempers toward one another and a rather shallow view of individuals exists that is there are no equals someone is either above you or below you in the pecking order, it is nearly impossible to preach Christ. If someone begins to preach Christ they are locked up, scourged or fired. Churches don’t speak out against this perversion and decadence they actually contribute to it because they are supported by business owners and these churches themselves are profit-motivated. Churches also for the most part are not open to the general public except on Sundays so there is no support for those who find the culture in every respect the enemy of Christ-like virtues that it truly is. A kind and meek person is an outcast an outsider in this push me, pull you rat race and neon cement jungle we call America the Beautiful. It is a culture that is based on competition with others and a power-over mentality that rejects Christ and His disciplines of faith, hope, love and charity. Abuse runs rampant and no one is free to express themselves spiritually even in most homes.
What then? Did you think I would just give-up? My pen quipped I convict you all of the worshiping of wealth and money and continue to warn you of the consequences. You don’t see that you shut-out Jesus and squelch the Holy Spirit every time you go to work for your wicked bosses and play the money game. Build your communities with Jesus at the center and horde not the resources to yourselves as you have been doing in this country since the late 19th century kissing the ass of greed and worshiping wealth and share the wealth with everyone you meet and preach Jesus as described in the Bible. Feed the poor, house the homeless and stop this petty war over small amounts of money which in the end profits the individual who hordes it nothing. Oh let the great dream of American christendom and community of the faithful awaken!!!

Essay on Attending Church

April 11, 2010

Everyone wants to be on the plus side of the sine curve; the side that is winning in the “game of life”;
The side that leads to the ethical yet prosperous way. For these reasons and many others people of all ethnic backgrounds and
in every kind of situation in life choose to attend church at least once a week. For wellness of being or profit
of wealth going to church is the right choice. Although many are seen as hypocrites who choose God because
He butters their bread, I would say those who are involved in the corporate climb, the rat-race of American
politics and business are more the ones with compromised principles and values.
Just because the church, most churches, is full of hypocrites and unyielding bigots is not an excuse
not to go. We go to support Jesus Christ, Son of God, Our Savior, God the father almighty who created life
and all things and us included, and the Holy Ghost from whom all good things in life come from and to reach-out to
those victimized by bigotry and hypocrisy. We see hypocrisy and bigotry in the church as an excuse to attend regularly
not as a reason not to attend. We do not go to church to be served but to serve. We do not go to church to get(although
we receive much from attending regularly)we go to give ourselves, our lives, to the One that gave us life. His is the gift of
life and there is none other, blessed be the name of the Holy Trinity forever.
Just because there are many innocent people who sit in the pews petrified in apoplectic fear, who are hurt by others
in the same congregation, is no excuse not to go. Rather it is an excuse to devote more time to that church and reach out
to those in fear and loathing and bring Christ’s love and peace that surpasses all human understanding to them.
Just because you hear abominable, discourteous, even blasphemy preached in the pulpit this too is not an excuse
not to go to church. It is the most primary check and balance on the Pastor’s power that he or she be confronted by his
laity. The reproachful arrogance and ignorance of such clergy is an excuse to do God a favor by having them defrocked
and reported to headquarters of that particular denomination.
Just because you don’t agree with the Catholic Church’s position on certain issues and your parents raised you to serve
Jesus in the Catholic Church is not an excuse to skip the process of confession, acceptance, penance, redemption and joy of
salvation. All the more reason to go to mass and understand Her position on such things. More often than not the church’s position
does not exclude the exceptions to the code(and the church is wise enough to know that there are exceptions)and that you are
looking to the exception as the rule!!!! So be reverent of your Catholic Heritage and attend mass. Most protestant believers
are in church-related activities all through the week not just on Sundays. So attend confession and remember your sacraments
all you wayward Catholics!!!!
Whether you are a singer in the choir, contributor of funds, or just a wayward sinner looking to cop a plea bargain, the church
is a place where you really have a voice and an ear on your mouth. A place where no matter who you are, whether you are sick or
healthy, rich or poor, black, red, yellow or white you can be of help and be helped. A place where you can read the scriptures and
learn to understand their secrets and unlock the door to the wonderful ways of God Almighty who is within us, created us all, and
blesses us all with His divine, compassionate justice and mercy always and in all ways. The bottom line of this essay is that Jesus
didn’t make excuses; he committed Himself to your salvation. Therefore choose the road less traveled and commit yourself to attend
His Church at least once a week…. Amen.

Essay on Abortion

February 10, 2010

Abortion is a hot and heavy issue these days. The Catholics are furiously fighting to end all abortion and make it illegal. On the other hand, it has become a business for many doctors and lawyers who are exploiting permiscuous sex and providing an easy solution for unwanted babies. However this may be true, there are certain situations that abortion is necessary and to just blatantly make it a capital crime does not seem necessary.

In cases of rape and incest for one, it doesn’t seem right for a young girl to carry a baby she had no choice in having. But the chaotic way young people are “hooking up” and then annihilating the innocent young unborn kid also seems as ludicrous as rape and incest are.
They are not unaware of the consequences and often “hook up” with the same partner after the abortion has been done. There is a definitive difference between freedom and license or permissiveness. I blame the parents who are often carrying on extramarital affairs, doing drugs and engaging in licentious behavior. Like parents, like child. This breakdown in the value structure has occurred because of the media(bad tv and movies), the expansion of the porn industry, and a lack of accountability of those in office. Bought and sold easily these people all have contributed to the rupture of the family unit and left a cloud of corruption and deceit like a halo around this nation.

What is the message? Well, the message is the same as it was 2,000 years ago. Repent and hold your fellow man firm. Repent your evil ways and turn away error. Assail your own hearts and souls with Jesus’ ways and render not alms for repentance but your head, souls, hearts and bodies you shall render to God. And turn away nevermore. Amen.

A word about heaven and hell

October 13, 2009

greeley woods
While perusing the scriptures’ teaching about Heaven and Hell, along with Christ’s many parables and the sermon on the mount I came upon Romans chapter ten. It is clear that there is a certain righteousness that occurs in a person when they proclaim Christ as Lord, and it doesn’t matter if you are Jew or Gentile or Protestant or Catholic. That you are not saved automatically if you are a Catholic as many hypocrites in the Catholic Church believe, nor will you be saved by the merits of your work or stature in society as many hypocrites in the Protestant Church believe. You won’t be saved by faith and works alone, nor by catholic priest’s blessing, just as confessing to a priest to get absolved is not a license to sin, great works is not a ticket to Heaven!!!
Romans 10 says that “the word is near you” when you proclaim Jesus as lord and saviour
and believe that He died on the cross and rose from the dead. This means we are not supposed to stay silent but rather share our experience of faith with each other and preach the gospel to non-believers that they might also be saved.
The kingdom of Heaven is now, here at hand and a certain righteousness by faith and of works occurs when we proclaim Jesus as Lord and Saviour and preach the Gospel with a clear conscience. So do not say in your heart who will go to Heaven or who will go to Hell because only God the Father knows that. Rather have a faithful obedient heart that is not full of resentment and jealousy and envy and let God heal you and mold you into a humble servant of the people. Know that you won’t be saved by the organization you belong to nor by the merits of your acheivements nor by what is in your hand or stature in society, rather we are judged by what is in our hearts whether that be love or hate…
and when you call upon the name of the Lord, Jesus places the seed of love on your heart,
and it is up to us to nurture that seed and share it with others…

Obey What?

September 6, 2009

So many people have been eradicated from life on this planet from disobedience. It has always been popular to rebel against discipline in a futile effort to live a life of ease. It is, indeed, the tougher road to hoe to rebel, a life of unfulfillment, violent oppression and short lives. The many mercies that come from a life of obedience to God are far more of a pleasure than any rebel will ever know. By obedience I mean this: To obey the law which calls us to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful to others, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent and believe with all our hearts that this is not an impossible moral standard and is the very standard by which we shall be judged and to embrace this life with all of our skill and ability. One who does these things and puts this to practice pleases God. If you put this to practice you will be happy in this life, and go to Heaven when you die. He or she that rebels, murders their parents and shames their own heritage.
Care about yourself, put these things to practice,
Care about your community, put these things to practice.
Amen.

The Christian Blogosphere

April 7, 2009

I googled ‘christian websites’, ‘christian blogs’, and ‘online christian communities’ and what I found was shocking to say the least. Most of these sites hadn’t been posted on for years, months, and in a few cases it had been weeks since anyone had either commented or posted. With Holy week upon us you would think that the christian blogosphere would be bristling with activity instead I found complete complacency and negligence. There was one site which had a recent post that was christianmusicplanet.com but there were no easter songs mp3s, only a posty about some award ceremony on april 23rd. No easter music festival, nothing. No one was persevering, no one trumpeting out palm sunday joy and triumph just a lot of dead weight and lackluster lip service to something that is a daily thing, a daily walk with Jesus. Every day is a wonder and a gift from God you got to water your gardens and keep your blogs fresh and poignant to what is going on in your life, in your daily walk with Jesus, share what He reveals to you every day. Today I read Psalm 71. What I take from that particular psalm is that if you in your daily walk with God do not forsake the Lord then truly, truly I say to you He will not forsake you, in your time of distress He will lift you up and hold you near, you will be glad in this life and go to heaven when you die. I feel very blessed to be alive and to maintain an active christian blog.

Hope and Change

February 23, 2009

In a social strata based on competition relationships are bound to be shallow, lacking in the virtues and the aspects of love and peace. If you take advantage of others, abuse your privilege and steal and whorde lots of money you are going to be the boss or close to the top of your field. But insincerity, fear of losing what you have gained, and the opaqueness of thoughts and feelings that you must maintain to keep your position will leave you with shallow committments and hollow goals. If you figure there are 949 billionaires out of 300,000,000 billionaire wannabees that’s a lot of wealth in very few hands. Perhaps this is working for you but it surely isn’t working for me.
The whole strata needs to be changed… Hope and Change
