moving from darkness to light

t is not likely that those who have walked in darkness as we all have,
will willingly give up the darkness without suffering some, or maybe a lot,
for example I gave up smoking pot and cigarettes in 2009…
and I crave these things for pain relief and personal comfort,
but prayer has led me to give these things up permanently,
not for myself, but for the Lord Jesus….
Let me explain
if I smoke and drink I am no example and therefore worthless to the Lord
while I smoke and drink no one on Earth will take what I say seriously,
therefore as a witness to the Lord I am impotent,
but if I refrain from “the devil’s vices” as they are commonly referred to
I live an exemplary life and am a powerful witness
and if my surrendering of these vices was without pain and suffering
who would notice that I gave them up?
It is not likely that those of us who have walked in darkness
will willingly give up the darkness without suffering some, or maybe a lot!!!
but rejoice in your growing pains as a woman does in labor
for much fruit will come forth from you who continue to learn and grow
and stay and persevere in prayer and deed
if you persevere in prayer and not work, your prayer is a clanging cymbal
to be cast away from the Lord as a detestable devotee
if you persevere in deed that is work and not prayer
your work and deed is useless and will be unrewarded and unnoticed,
so spend sometime in prayer ye who work hard and complain about no reward,
go to church of your choosing and return to the sacraments
so spend sometime doing something useful for society
ye who pray and complain about God not answering you
I bid you to dance with Jesus the Lord of the dance,
and to dance with Him is to embrace life of faith and of works
so take the giant step out of the darkness of your own minds
and step into the light which is God’s creation
peace be with you all…moving from darkness to light
